MASTERS CUP FISHING
PRESS RELEASE

Premiere of Master Cup Fishing

Master Cup Fishing announced today the launch of their new professional fishing league, debuting in November 2023.

Format

Master Cup Fishing brings a brand-new, highly competitive, team-based format to professional fishing.

The format is fast paced. Games are played between two teams. Each game lasts three hours and is divided into three periods. Team members and the coach are in constant communication to aid in finding the bass. However, rules prevent any angler from sharing an area they have fished during that period with another team member. Plus, each angler can only score their three largest fish each period. The five anglers combine their weights to form their team’s score. The team with the most combined weight at the end of the third period is the winner of the game.

Each game counts towards the overall record of each team within their division. The top team in each division advances to the Master Cup Fishing National Championship. Teams will compete in the best of 7 games for the chance to be the first to ever hoist the Legends of Bass Trophy.

Who Will Play

Like other high-profile sports leagues, teams are formed by anglers recruited by team owners. Teams consist of five anglers and a coach. Top tier competitors are being recruited including top anglers from BASSMASTER and Major League Fishing.

One owner reported that he had verbal commitment from three anglers ranked in the top 23 of world rankings. Other owners are strategically looking for anglers that will dominate on their team’s home lakes while selecting others that will bring victories on other lakes in their divisions. The angler names that this reporter is hearing is awesome (unfortunately I cannot yet release them). The team members for each team will be released over the next several months (what a tease!)

Where to Watch

Master Cup Fishing will be streaming every game from location with live cameras in the angler’s boats. Fans will be able to watch their favorite teams compete in real time in this fast paced, action-packed competition and listen in as the top anglers in the world actively adjust to conditions and work together to come out victorious. Viewers will be able to listen to teams break down the lake and quickly adjust to best their competition. Master Cup Fishing will be available to view live on their website, as well through their streaming partner Triple B’s STREAMSTAK.

Keep an eye out for more information in the coming weeks!
